I began making jewelry my junior year of high school. Mr. Fiore was my teacher, I guess he saw some promise in me, as he referred me to a local jeweler.
This was a small company owned by a graduate at of a local college. He and a troop of artists did everything from scratch. Including mixing 24K gold into 14K gold. I learned how gold can be mixed in several colors, such as white, yellow, rose, and green.
They taught me the basics from construction to casting. Learning from the bottom up, I ground, shaped, and polished the other artists castings. I've even tried my hand at lapidary and electroplateing. Then I was taught how to create a pieces of my own. This education imbedded the love of precious stones and metals in me.
After 25 years, I began creating jewelry again in 2001. I now work out of my home studio. I sell my pieces at the Gallery in Lemont www.gallery-shop.com and at Gift adventures on the corner of Pugh and Beaver in State College. Beginning mid to late April my work will also be at the new Green Drake Gallery in Milheim. These are all in Pennsylvania.
